Per Helander is scientific member of the Max Planck Society, professor of theoretical physics at Greifswald University, and head of the Theory Division at IPP Greifswald. He has worked in many areas of theoretical plasma physics, particularly for stellarators, including magnetohydrodynamics, gyrokinetics, and collisional transport theory. He is a frequent and enthusiastic visitor to PPPL.
