Jongsoo Yoo is a staff research physicist at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. Dr. Yoo is a laboratory experimentalist working on self-organization processes in plasma such as magnetic reconnection. His current focus is to develop diagnostics for the upcoming user facility, Facility for Laboratory Reconnection Experiments (FLARE). He was born in South Korea and obtained a bachelor's degree in physics from Pohang University and Science and Technology (POSTECH) in 2002. After spending three years for the mandatory military service, he moved to Princeton University, where he obtained a Ph.D in Plasma Physics in 2013. After graduation, he continued to work at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory as an associate research physicist and was promoted to a staff research physicist in 2016.
